I know that here in California the seller pays 3% to a buyer’s agent and 3% to a seller’s (own) agent, but in this year of tumultuous real estate sales and dropping values of homes, many Realtors are quoting negotiable commission structure. What is reasonable to pay in commission fees to a seller’s agent?

And where does this rank a person for example a “super star” sales person or an average salesperson?
