This real estate agent is in NY. They have lied about conditions in the house, they have lied about telling the seller that things need to be done before closing, and they have yelled at me and insulted me saying that I am young and I ask too many questions. I have basically had to do everything myself and they treat me in a way that they would never treat anyone else of a older age. Who do I contact?

I own a house adjacent to my own, which I rent out. A real estate agent recently told me I’d find it quite agreeable to have it all looked after by his office, and sent me a brochure listing all the services they provide.
I’ve read it, but I’m still not convinced that I need a real estate agent to rent out that little 3-bedroom house.
Or could someone convince me, please?
I’d love to just place it in somebody’s hands and forget about it. But I don’t want to be foolish, either.

Amos R asked:

My friends real estate agent wouldn’t give them a comparable market analysis before they made an offer on a house. Is the agent required to provide that? This is in California. They feel as though the agent was trying to inflate the offer by not showing them recent sales info.
They have been working with the agent for a while and they have signed a paper/agreement for the agent to represent them as buyers.
They already made the offer on the house and now are negotiating the sellers counter offer. To the comment below, its my understanding agents do work for the buyers for free, its the seller that pays.
