I am currently finishing up my first year in college. I am a people person, and I learn and catch on to things quickly, and thought that real estate is something that I am interested in.
I am currently stuck between two careers…Real Estate Agent and Registered Nurse I feel they both have their positives and negatives but I would like some ‘outsider’ advice!

My friend is thinking of getting a real estate license. Does anyone have any advice for her. Can she work for an agency and collect a salary or is it all commission only? What’s the market like for real estate agents right now?
I was recently laid off and now I am looking for a career change. I have always been interested in real estate and this would be a good time for me to make the transition into a real estate career.
My only worry is that the market is so slow right now. Money is tied up, and people don’t seem to be buying homes right now. I want some opinions on entering real estate in this current economic condition. Preferably people with real estate knowledge or experience will answer my question.
I am trying to find a school for Real Estate Agent licensure. I know Hondros is a great school but I keep hearing it’s more expensive than most. Any suggestions?
I just got hired as a debt collector. I want to remain a real estate agent part time. Do you think this is possible or should I put my license ino referral status?

I know you must take course and Ive tried searching online but my results are vague bc I dont exactly know what Im looking for. Does anyone have any info about the length of classes, approximate cost, level of difficulty, tips or anything? Any helpful sites? I live in maryland and by the way is commercial is different from a regular real estate license? Thank you!

With the real estate market so painfully slow now, my best girlfriend is a real estate attorney and is wondering how to best supplement her current almost next to nothing income.
I have been thinking of getting my real estate license in Florida (focus on residential, maybe commercial later on). But the market here is terrible at best. I have a current consulting operation that pays very well. The real estate is something I would like to do when I semi-retire in a few years. I love people and I love houses, am very good at business. However, without really understanding the real estate occupation, I am not clear if it will still be something worthwhile to pursue. I know markets go up and markets go down… Florida is really suffering right now and not sure how long it will be a problem. I wanted to go ahead and take the classes and get my license in the next 6 months. Any words of wisdom from anyone in the field?

I have excellent clerical skills and some retail management mixed in. I have 5 years experience in real estate but am desperately seeking a structured work environment (housing crash is hurting alot of us). I am 26, live in NJ and have a 1 year old son. I’m currently working full time and am in need of a change. I’ve always been interested in real estate. Can someone please inform me on how to become a real estate agent? I am also looking for soem stories from beginner agents. Are the first couple of years rough? How fast did you get into the swing of things? Was it hard to get hired? Any information to help me make my decision will be beneficial. My husband is supportive of my goals, but I have limited time due to my current career and my son. I also should say that I don’t have a 4 year degree. I have some college under my belt. I ended up landing a good job with a great company almost 7 years ago and now work in marketing. Thank you!

I’m planning on going to college (don’t know what career I’m going for) but I’m wondering if real estate is a good career to get into, if it is a financially stable career, and how hard it is to get into it.
I want to get my real estate licenses, but I don’t have time to go to school. I would rather work for a company that will train me. If not, how do I go about getting my licenses in the least amount of time as possible?
