Real Estate as a business has all of the same functional areas as any other business. Marketing, finance, management, etc.
I would suggest that how best to start a course of study depends on what the goal is. Do you want to become a Realtor? I am sure that the state has a licensing curriculum and authorized course providers. If you are studying to begin investment, there have been thousands of books written on the subject. Your area may have a Real Estate Investor Association (REIA) chapter and teaching is a large part of what they do.
No doubt your local library has a plethora of information on the subject. That might be the best place to start. After all, its free, right?
Good luck!

Begin studying the different types of real estate. Commerical, retail, multifamily, single family, etc. Then begin studying the different types of investments/reasons to own real estate: Lumps sums/appreciation/buy and hold properties, cash flow properties, value add properties, buy and sell/flipping, etc.
By doing this, you will unlock a crazy amount of info.
