Do real estate agents discriminate based on the amount that is going to be spent on a purchase?

I’m already pre-approved so I don’t know why they don’t respond to me.

I would try looking online at realtor.com and doing a search for what’s in your price range. When you find things that interest you, then contact that agent directly. If you like that agent when they show you the house, you’ll have found someone who would, hopefully, continue to show you houses in your price range.

It is legal to choose not to deal with small purchases. It is kind of stupid in this market to lose out on a commission. Even if it is a small one, every little bit helps.
Maybe it would help if you do not tell them that part until you get a meeting with them. Or maybe ask upfront if they deal with small purchases.

I looked at Realtor.com and found this Office has multiple listings under the 80K figure. I was surprised at the number of homes at that price. I think money and time are the reasons some realtors may not be returning your calls. They may not want to drive around to look at homes for 3% of 80K ( $2,400 before office split ). I found a great realtor by going to open houses. Good luck.

When someone contacted me to either purchase or sell on a lower priced property, I would jump to that transaction as fast as if it was a million bucks. Every transaction is important to someone.
As for your question, if you can not get a referral from a friend of a good agent to work with then try one of these two options:
The broker of any company is going to try and make you a happy camper. They either will take the job on themselves or assign an agent to you. Therefore they will have to do some accounting to their boss how your transaction went. Or, call the listing agent. You already know they will work for someone in that price range. Plus, they will also jump at the chance to double end the deal.
As far as an agent in SB, walk through some doors and talk to some agents. If you don’t hit it off then walk through some more doors. You find the right fit.
