I want to get a real estate license in California. Just want to take some courses that are fast, preferable within 6 weeks and that costs between $99-$199 to prepare for the exam and also a class that is either online or in a class room setting that are approved by the Real Estate Commissioner and satisfies the pre-license education course requirements. I also live in Long Beach. Can someone help me figure out if this is a good idea or getting an appraisal license would be a better idea?

Go to the California Dept of RE website.
There is a lot of information. There are good online courses you can take. I happened to use Duane Gomer and First Tuesday.
The website has a list somewhere of acceptable courses.
Usually it involves buying the books and taking the exam on line and when you have the certificate you can sign up for the RE salesperson exam.
This is a good time to get into real estate because it is SLOW so you can become familiar with the career before sales pick up again.
Here are some opinions.
Be prepared not to have income for a while.
The job is satisfying, but can be time consuming and there is a lot of paperwork, as well as a lot of customer service and hand-holding with your buyers as well as sellers.
If you don’t know much about real estate already, try to affiliate with a good broker/agency which offers continuing education.
Good luck – the market can only get better – I hope!
