Becoming a real estate agent in Virginia?

I'm a college senior majoring in interior design. I'm also interested in real estate. I was planning my classes for next semester and there is an elective I can take that is a real estate class. As of Dec. 2009, I will have my bachelor's degree. What else would I need to do in order to become a licensed real estate agent? Do I need to take more, specialized classes? Or would that one elective plus my degree and area of study be sufficient education?

Not sure how it works in Virginia, but in California if you have a bachelor’s you could become a real estate broker. Of course they hold you to a higher regard then an agent but its a possibility to make more money off deals and maybe open up your own real estate company. You might want to check the states websites to see requirements.
