The first step is to enroll in the education class that you need to complete in order to apply for a license.

Call a real estate company and ask to speak to the broker. Find out what the licensing procedure is in your state. Some colleges offer the required courses. There are online offerings and technical school programs.
Some states require that you have a practicing real estate agent as a sponsor, so you might want to cultivate that relationship.
Do an online search for “real estate licence” AND (your state)– It may pull up an info page like this one for the state of Texas:
