I am currently in school for human resource management and business administration, but would like to work in real estate on the side. Do I need to go through a college course, or what to get my liscense?

You can take a class offered by your college or one from a commercial company. Check with your state department of licensing for particulars. You could also ask right at your school. And it is LICENSE.

I believe you can but you will have to take additional classes. I know in California you also have to intern for 6 months if you do not have a college degree. BTW: Why would anyone want to get a real estate license in today’s market? RE Agents are fighting each other for every listing.

The answer is no, you don’t need to go through college for a real estate license. However, you may need to study specific courses required by the state you live.

Each state is different. But you can go online and search for a license in your state and I am sure you can take the course online. (40 hours in Fl) once you have completed the course you will have to submit an application and fingerprints to take the state required test. Once you have passed that test (score of 75 or high) you are technically licensed to practice real estate. I will warn you that the class and the test are just designed to make sure your know the laws and not actually how to practice real estate. As a agent myself… I would also question why you want to get in to the business when so many of us are having to find different employment due to the depressed market. Real Estate is very rewarding … but when it is bad it is really bad. Be sure to continue and get you BA so you will always have something when the business is bad.
