I'm 17 and I would like to become a real estate investor. Do I go to college and learn about it? Should I start off as a real estate agent and then go on? What should I do?

You have to take classes to get a license. You will have to check your state’s requirements to obtain a realty license, but most states require that you have college credits with certain classes having been taken and passed. Investments take money, so starting off small would probably be your best bet. As always, I’m going to advise you to talk to a career counselor/adviser at the school you plan to attend or a local college that you are considering (and one that has a real estate program/curriculum, some community colleges do not, so you might want to aim for universities). They would be the best to advise you in the direction you should be taking. A counselor can tell you which plan you need to follow, so scheduling an appointment with one would be a good starter point for you. Good luck.

Definitely go to college and take classes in business that will help you as an investor. College classes in accounting, finance, economy, management will help you as you make your choices and decisions. Whatever you do, narrow your scope of what type of investor you would like to be. Find what interests you. You will do better in something you enjoy. Do you want to buy and sell or be a landlord by buying and renting? Focus and narrow your scope. You don’t need to be a real estate agent to be a good investor. However, you should work with a trustworthy real estate agent who is experienced. When you find a good and experienced agent, be respectful of their time. A really good agent is a valuable team member to an investor.

If you do just one thing today, do some research on the various real estate markets to familiarize yourself with the type of real estate you are interested in investing in.
I found this site that covers all the basics of real estate from becoming a real estate agent to successful investing.
You will find links to reputable real estate schools online and traditional classroom real estate schools, too.
