I was thinking about going into real estate, however I know you can't be convicted of a misdemeanor and I had one 3 years ago but it was expunged.

absolutely not. just remember that your arrest is probably still on record but it take a lot of work to dig that up. everyone makes mistakes. most people understand that.

If it is expunged, it shouldn’t affect you. That is why you get things expunged. Do a background check on yourself, if it comes up, contact the court. Expunged records aren’t public!

Just hope and pray that the application will state, “Do not include any convictions that have been expunged”.

Hello Stephanie. The definition of expungment means to erase as though it never happened. If you have your misdemeanor expunged, you can legally state you were never convicted.
Expunged records still technically exist, but can only be accessed by law enforcement and the court system under certain circumstances. No employer background check will show anything.
Best of luck and I hope this is useful to you
